Bible Study on Prayer!

Hey! I hope you’re having a great week so far. Today we’re doing a little Bible Study on Prayer! I’ve talked about different types of prayer and fun ways to do it, but I haven’t talked a lot about prayer itself. So that’s what we’re doing today! We’re going to study it a little bit. You can grab your Bible and highlighters if you want, but all the Bible verses will be here on this post too.  Let’s look at my Verse of the Year, 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (NLT), which says: “Never stop praying.” I’ve mentioned it a lot on my Instagram, but I’ve never really dove into it. It’s only three words and pretty self-explanatory, but we’re still going to study it.  The reason I picked the NLT (New Living Translation) translation of this verse is because it’s simple and right to the point; also, I liked it best out of the other translations. Sometimes, when I’m focusing on one verse in the Bible, I would go to the Bible app and look at other translations of that same verse. It helps me un...

War Room Makeover: Part 2

It’s here! The reveal of my War Room Makeover! It actually turned out so cute… I added pillows and a blanket, the verse card wall on the left, and I switched out the cards on the bulletin board. Cleaning probably took the most time to do though. Anyways, I hope that this inspires you to make your own War Room or makeover yours! To makeover your War Room, you can use the steps in part one of this series ( HERE’S  the link to that post). More than anything, I hope this inspires you to pray. Whether that’s prayer journaling or just sitting and talking to God, I hope you do it!  By the way, if you want to see the before and after transition of this makeover, check out my Instagram! God Bless, and I’ll see you next week!

War Room Makeover: Part 1

Okay, you guys. Let’s discuss War Rooms, because being honest, it’s been a while since we have. My War Room has gotten kind of “bleh” recently because, well, I haven’t been using it. It’s been a storage corner in my closet more than a prayer corner. I think what it needs is a little refresh and makeover -maybe that’ll get me in there more! Also, to clarify, the War Room is honestly not about looks. But if that’s what gets you in there more often to pray, then it’s worth your decorating time. The first step to a War Room Makeover is inspirational Pinterest photos!! Now that I’m inspired, it’s time to begin! Here’s my plan: Take everything out and clean that corner Update the prayer board and redo it Put the prayer board back Update/change out some of the items in the basket Put the basket back Decorate more! Come back next week to see my updated War Room! God Bless!

Bible Verse of the Year Challenge 2026

Hey! Happy New Year! This fresh start has made me decide to open up more possibilities for the Miss Lily Jayne brand. I opened up an Instagram account yesterday, and am posting daily. I’m hoping that will expand the following on this blog, my books, and everything Miss Lily Jayne. It’s a new chapter!  Speaking of new chapters, it’s time for the Bible Verse of the Year Challenge -2026 Edition! If you didn’t know, last year I picked a Bible verse that I focused on all year, and it was Philippians 4:8. I was focusing on managing my thought-life better; I wasn’t only focusing on that single topic the whole year, though. It was just one thing I was trying to do better about in 2025 and the years to follow. Anyways, this year I picked another verse for me to do better about obeying: 1 Thessalonians 5:17, which says, (NLT) “Never stop praying.” So, this year I’m focusing on being more intentional about prayer, which you may have seen on my Instagram post yesterday.  To be more intent...
