Girl Chat: Fashion!

Hey, girl! Let’s chat  about FASHION ! Clothes, manicures, hair and makeup- this is going to be fun. First things first, though. What do you think of when you think of the word fashion ? I think of clothes, so we’ll start there after a friend of mine answers a question! What are your thoughts on fashion? What are some outfits that you LOVE to wear? Wow, what fun questions! First of all, I have always been taught to dress modestly. Now, that doesn’t mean I always wear floor length dresses! It does mean I choose wisely and use discernment, asking questions like, “Why am I getting this? Is it to look nice or is it to show off?” I believe that you can look nice without being immodest and that your faith matters more than outward appearances. (See Galatians 1:10 and 1 Timothy 2:9-10) That being said, I love to wear deep colors like forest greens and sky blues. I am also a pushover for dangle earrings! I love pairing jewelry with simple outfits to add some sparkle. I don’t wear much make...

Girl Chat: Bible Study!

Welcome to the first post of Girl Chat ! Today, we’re talking about Bible Study . Taking time out of your day to spend with God is essential to being a Christian girl and growing in your faith. Today, we’ll chat about different ways to spend time with God, Bible study resources I suggest, and how to make time with God super fun! First, let’s start with a friend of mine answering a question! What does your daily time with God look like? Currently, I am doing a plan called The Five Day Reading program (https://www.fivedaybiblereading.com), which is just like it sounds!   I am reading the Bible in a year, five days in a week! This leaves room for other Bible studies on the other days or being able to catch up if I missed a day! My routine is to pray, read the chapters, journal about them, and then pray some more. This  approach is simple, but super easy to fit into a busy schedule! Different Ways to Spend Time with God Read a Psalm each day. You could start at the beginnin...

Are you a middle school girl? You’ve come to the write place! For the next five weeks from now, I’ll dedicate all my posts to something I like to call Girl Chat . (Yes, I know today would otherwise be a monthly book review day -it’s the second Friday of the month. But we’ll skip it this month because of this series!) What is Girl Chat ? It’s talk about being beautiful inside and out. Here’s the schedule! Friday, April 18: Bible Study! Friday, April 25: Fashion! Friday, May 2: Bedroom Makeover! Friday, May 9: Journaling! Friday, May 16: Confidence! I’m pretty excited for this series, and hope you are too! Put these dates in your planner, you’re not going to want to miss this, trust me. There will be fun things to do, Bible study tips and suggestions, fun ways to journal, different ways to use a journal, freebies, and most importantly, you’ll arm yourself with Scripture. But don’t think for a second that it’s going to be boring. Also, I asked a friend to give some thoughts on each...

April 2025 Monthly Book Review

Hey! Since we’re starting a new series this Friday, I’m posting this month’s book review on a Wednesday (today). It’s monthly book review time! The Girl’s Guide to Life Written By: Sherry Kyle Here are some photos I took of it!  My Rating: 9 out of 10 My Description The Girl’s Guide to Life by Sherry Kyle has relatable short stories, guided journal time, practical tips, fun crafts, short Bible studies, and more! Each chapter talks about different things like money, spending time with God, how to stay fit, loving your family, friendships, and more! While talking about all that, it’s fun too! It is a book you will definitely come back to again and again with different problems in mind. My Recommendation for Age Group: 11-14 year old girls Fiction or Non-fiction? Both! Each chapter starts with a fictional short story, then the rest of the chapter is non-fiction. Would I recommend this book to others? Yes! One thing I learned from this book: “God created you to do good works. Whe...
