Happy Thanksgiving

It’s Thanksgiving! What better thing to do than practice thankfulness? Grab a journal or notebook, and write ten things you’re thankful for. If you’re unsure on what to be thankful for, what about the journal and pen you’re writing with? If you’re spending time with family, write that! Just look around you and pick 10 things to be thankful for. Other than that…Happy Thanksgiving! P. S. Be on the lookout for special Christmas things coming out on here soon!

Decorating Your Bedroom with Inspiration from the Bible!

Your bedroom is where you spend a lot of time, right? Well, in this post, I’ll be talking all about making your bedroom a place to inspire you! From Bible verse posters, to index cards with Bible verses on them, this post will hopefully begin an endless inspiration, all from the Bible!  Imagine this: you wake up to a really cool Bible verse poster on the wall, and you think, “I kind of want to read my Bible now!” . Bible inspired things inspire you to read your Bible! Also, they inspire you to live out the Bible. Here are some ideas! Bible Verse Posters are exactly what they sound like; they’re posters with Bible verses on them. They’re not boring though, they have lots of artwork around the Bible verse to make it look prettier. Mini Bible Verse Posters Do you have a cork board, whiteboard with a magnet, or string of photos? If so, this craft is for you! For me, I took an index card, wrote an inspiring Bible verse on it with really nice handwriting, put some pretty flower stickers ...

Obeying God’s Word

Hello! So I saw this Bible verse recently about obeying the Lord, and I was thinking, “I should write a blog post on that!” . As you can see, I followed through with thought! Anyway, you’re probably wondering what Bible verse I saw, so here it is! “He replied, ‘Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.’” -(Luke 11:28) Did you notice how Jesus said and obey it? Yeah. He didn’t just say “Blessed are those who hear the word of God”, he said, “Blessed are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” So we shouldn’t just read the Bible and think “That’s good!” , we should think that, then obey it. Remember, God’s word isn’t something to just read, it’s not just any old book, it’s God’s Word . Now read this: “He replied, ‘Blessed rather is (your name) who hears the word of God and obeys it.” The Bible talks a lot about obeying God’s word instead of just hearing it. Here is 1 John 2:3, NIV: “We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. Whoever says,...

November 2024 Monthly Book Review

Maybe it’s just me, but can you believe it’s already the second monthly book review? It feels like yesterday when I posted the one for October. If you haven’t read the October 2024 Monthly Book Review, check it out HERE:  https://misslilyjayne.blogspot.com/2024/10/october-2024-monthly-book-review.html  Anyway, here is this month’s book review! Library Girl Written by: Polly Horvath My Rating: 8 out of 10 My Description Library Girl by Polly Horvath is a fictional book about a girl who grew up in a library. When she was a baby, she was found on a bookshelf of the library by all the children’s librarians. They kept her a secret, and her bedroom was in the inner office of the children’s librarians’ office. The book takes place mostly when Essie (the library girl) is eleven years old. I will say the story is a little unbelievable, but it was a great story, and I recommend it. My Recommendation For Age Group: 10-12 Fiction or Non-fiction? Fiction Would I recommend this book t...

Bible Study Methods

Hey! So today we’re going to talk about Bible study methods. There are a lot of them out there, and I think a lot of the time we overcomplicate our Bible study time. Bible reading and study is very important, but we shouldn’t overcomplicate it. Here is one common method that a lot of people use: S: scripture (write out the Scripture you’re studying, or, if it’s pretty long, write the Scripture reference.) O: observe (write something that stood out to you in the text, or that you observe.) A: apply (how can you apply this scripture to your life?) P: prayer (write a prayer asking God to help you apply this scripture to your life.) There’s one method, and here’s another one: Step 1: Pray Step 2: Read the scripture Step 3: Interpret this scripture in your own words Step 4: Write how you can apply this scripture to your life Step 5: Pray No matter what method you use, or if you come up with your own, always begin and end your Bible study/reading time with prayer. Those are just two Bible st...
