Journaling Through Lent: Week 2

Welcome to Week 2 of Journaling Through Lent! Today, the attribute of Jesus that we’re going to be talking about is that He offers second chances. He is filled with grace, love, and yes, second chances.  Here are the first Bible verses I would like to share with you: “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.” -Romans 8:1-2 (NIV). The fact that we were once lost and now are found as Christians is proof enough that Jesus gives second chances. We were dead, heading for hell. Then when we put our faith in Jesus and committed our life to Him, we suddenly became alive and are now headed for Heaven! The only reason that we are able to spend eternity with Jesus just by following and believing in Him is because Jesus died on the cross for us. It was our sin, but Jesus took the punishment for it so that we didn’t have to. Now we’re forgiven...

Journaling Through Lent: Week 1

Two days ago was Ash Wednesday, which marks the start of LENT. That also marks the start of this series! This is Week 1 of Journaling Through LENT. Each week will be about a different theme that Jesus displayed through His time here on earth and still continues to display today. The attributes of Jesus that we’ll be studying today are His love and His kindness. Also, each week, I will put a journaling/reflection prompt for you to take and write about in a journal.  First, let’s discuss what LENT is. Lent represents the forty days that Jesus spent in the wilderness getting tempted by Satan. It’s a time for preparing our hearts for Easter, and a time for fasting, intentional time with God, and being generous to those around us. During this season, focus on spending time with God. What is one thing that is holding you back from spending more time with God? If you spend a lot of time doing things like scrolling on social media or reading unwholesome books, it’s time to give that up for...

Romance Book Suggestions

Instead of a book review for February, let’s do a list of romance book recommendations! Here are some of my favorite romance books!  Just for the Summer by Melody Carlson Life Just Got Real by Sadie Robertson Christy Miller by Robin Jones Gunn (The whole series!) Love and Other Great Expectations by Becky Dean My Favorite Color is Something Blue by Eva Austin (She also wrote My Favorite Color is the Golden Hour and My Favorite Color is Mistletoe! They’re all so good.) Holly’s Heart by Beverly Lewis (The whole series!) Those are just a few recommendations; you should read them! They’re all clean, and most of them are Christian books too. That’s all for this week. God Bless!

Faith Reset

Sometimes we need the reminder of what life is all about: God. Here’s a compilation of verses to remind and reset. Keeping a heaven mindset is so important, and that’s what the Bible says to do.  The first one is one that I relate to and love as a writer: “My heart is stirred by a noble theme as I recite my verses for the king; my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer.” Psalm 45:1 (NIV). This Psalm uses the picture of a royal king’s traits, envisioning what Jesus’ coming would be like. This verse in particular is picturing a servant speaking to a good, earthly king. We can use it as a picture of us praying to our Divine King, Jesus. I hope that makes sense, but basically, it just means that when the Holy Spirit speaks through us and “stirs” our hearts, our tongue becomes one like a skillful writer’s pen. You can think of that like God’s pen writing what you’re saying when the Holy Spirit is in you.  These next verses I’m going to write about are basically a hype-up fo...
