Answers

Mostly A’s: It’s sounds like you have just enough time to kick up your feet and relax for a short amount of time. That’s okay! It’s good that you’re taking that time to relax. You could listen to a podcast, journal, read, listen to music, color, stretch, or eat a quick snack. My advice: put away technology, put on some slippers, and just do one thing to really relax. If you’re journaling or coloring, don’t worry about it being perfect in any sense- you’re doing it just to relax.

Mostly B’s: You have a good amount of time on your hands to paint your nails, take a bubble bath, or do a facial! Only one or two though, and don’t rush it. Put on that fluffy robe with your comfy slippers and headband, set on some music in the background (if you want to), and get to relaxing!

Mostly C’s: It’s sounds like you maybe have half an hour to relax! You can put on pajamas, and pick 2-4 ways to relax! You could do a facial, a mani-pedi, a bubble bath, some journaling or reading, a fun craft, or read your Bible! It could be fun to also MAKE some spa-day items during this time. Have fun with whatever you do!

Okay, maybe you took that quiz and are planning to do some relaxing based on your answer in the future. To plan ahead, and have some fun now, you could make some spa-day items! Here are some ideas!

Foot Scrub

It may sound gross, but scrubbing your feet with a foot scrub is actually very relieving and makes you feel and look so much better after! Here is a DIY foot scrub from the book “101 Ways to Have Fun” by Faithgirlz (page 50).

Sweet Like Brown Sugar Scrub

What you need:

  • 2 teaspoons ginger (powdered works!)
  • 1 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 cups brown sugar
There are three recipes for it in the book, but this one is my fave! It says all you have to do is “Just dump everything into a bowl, mix and buff up. Save the rest in a Mason jar and enjoy all week.”

So yeah! Not much to it.

Bath Bombs

Here’s a bath bomb recipe from that same book, page 63.

What You Need:
  • Glass bowl
  • 2 tablespoons vitamin C powder (or citric acid)
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • 3 tablespoons light oil, such as almond, canola or sesame
  • 2-5 drops food coloring
  • 2-5 drops scented oil (we love lavender or lemongrass)
  • Packet of sugar flowers (the kind you’d use for decorating a cake)
  • Spoon
  • Sheet of waxed paper
Step #1: In bowl, mix together the vitamin C powder, cornstarch and baking soda. Slowly add the light oil and stir until you have a soft, dough-like substance. Add food coloring and scented oil.

Step #2: Take small scoops of dough and roll to form balls 2 inches in diameter. Push a sugar flower into the top of each ball, making sure the petals are at the same height as the bomb.

Step #3 Place the orbs on a sheet of waxed paper. You’ll have to give them 24 hours to harden and dry before plopping them in your bath (we recommend 2 balls per soak session) or storing them in an airtight container.

I really hope that this gave you some great ideas, advice, and recipes you’ll use. I’m no expert, but I still hope this helped you. There is no right or wrong way to relax, it’s just time to step away, take a break, and breathe. Even if you never use any of this, I hope just reading this post helped you relax a little. Reading about relaxing can really help you relax (I know that sounds weird, but it’s true)!

See you next Friday, bye!
