Hey! You may have clicked on this post thinking “huh? The new skincare way?”, but read on my friend, read on.
Just to help you understand what’s below, let me just explain something. I’ll list a skincare item, and next to it I’ll put a replacement for it to take care of your “Christian skin”. If you wanted to though, you could do both the outward and inward skincare items. You could even do the pairs at the same time (example: using a sugar scrub as you ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins and wash you clean -like a sugar scrub. Again, I’m not talking about new believers asking Jesus to purify them for the first time -though they are absolutely welcome and encouraged to- but seasoned believers who need some purification). Let’s do it!
The New Skincare Way
Facial Cleanser: Ask Jesus to cleanse you of your sins and help you back to the path of doing what’s right. Also, read Psalm 19:12-13.
Moisturizer: Ask Jesus to fill you with joy and rejuvenate you -just like moisturizing. Also, read Psalm 51:10
Lip Gloss: Read these encouraging parts of the Bible to give you a pep-talk straight from Jesus:
- Psalm 46:5
- Song of Songs 4:7 (NIV is especially good on this verse)
- Psalm 121 -I know, a whole psalm, but it’s only eight verses!
That’s The New Skincare Way! It could seem like lot of reading and praying, but it’s actually not too long. Also, Jesus is all you will ever need (for eternal life, joy, etc), and He is with you right now.
“I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me. I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night- but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you.” -Psalm 139:7-12, NLT
Think about that. God is everywhere; He is right with you wherever you are now and always. Spend some time to connect with the Savior in the room.
