Thanksgiving Gratefulness

Hey everyone! This week, we’re going to take a break from the gift guide series just because it’s Thanksgiving and I want to put a post on the blog about gratefulness. Let’s get into it!

“I remember the days of long ago; I meditate on all your works and consider what your hands have done. I spread out my hands to you; I thirst for you like a parched land.” -Psalm 143:5-6 (NIV)

We need Jesus. Like the verse said, we thirst for Him. We can’t live a good life without Him, and thankfulness reminds us of that. Thankfulness can help revive a faith and can spark a little bit more inspiration in our hearts to how good God is and how great it is to have a relationship with Him. Maybe you reflect on God’s goodness every Thanksgiving already, but even if you don’t, I encourage you to. To do that, you could…

  • Play some worship music on your phone and sing the words to God aloud or in your head
  • Write a list of things you’re thankful for in your journal or prayer journal (with worship music playing)
  • Pray and thank God for some things
  • Reflect -in your mind or in your journal- about the things and miracles God has done in your life
These are just a few ideas, and I hope you try one. Comment down below your favorite thanksgiving food (Also, I know I have put prompts for comments on posts in the past, but I didn’t realize that comments weren’t turned on…there wasn’t even a place you could comment! Sorry about that; I fixed it. Make sure to leave your comments now -if you have any ideas that you want me to post about, please leave that in the comments!) I’ll see you next week and Happy Thanksgiving!
